Today, I went to a beautiful place near Guwahati city. I planted a Guava Tree Sapling.

This is just a small step towards the Climate Action. As a Climate Activist myself, I'm very happy to share with you all about the Guava Tree Sapling. In today's world, environmental problems are becoming increasingly severe, with climate change, deforestation, and air pollution being just a few of the major issues we face. However, one simple solution that we can all contribute to is planting trees. Trees are essential for the health of our planet and can have a significant impact on improving our environment.

Why are trees important?

Trees are important for many reasons, including:

1. Producing oxygen: Trees are essential for producing oxygen, which is necessary for all living things to survive.

2. Cleaning the air: Trees absorb pollutants and other harmful gases from the air, improving air quality.

3. Preventing soil erosion: Trees help to prevent soil erosion by holding soil in place with their roots.

4. Providing habitat: Trees provide a habitat for many different species of animals, including birds, insects, and mammals.

5. Reducing carbon dioxide: Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.

The benefits of planting trees

Planting trees can have numerous benefits, including:

1. Enhancing biodiversity: Planting trees can help to enhance biodiversity by providing a habitat for various species of plants and animals.

2. Improving air quality: Trees absorb pollutants and other harmful gases from the air, improving air quality.

3. Mitigating climate change: Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change.

4. Reducing erosion: Trees help to prevent soil erosion by holding soil in place with their roots.

5. Providing shade: Trees provide shade, which can help to reduce energy costs and provide a cool place to relax on hot days.

How to plant a tree

Planting a tree is a simple process that can be done by anyone. Here are some basic steps to follow:

1. Choose a location: Select a location that is suitable for the type of tree you want to plant.

2. Dig a hole: Dig a hole that is deep enough for the tree's roots to fit comfortably.

3. Plant the tree: Place the tree in the hole, making sure that the roots are covered with soil.

4. Water the tree: Water the tree thoroughly to help it establish its roots.

5. Mulch the tree: Mulch around the base of the tree to help retain moisture and prevent weeds from growing.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, planting trees is an essential and simple way to contribute to the betterment of our world. Trees provide numerous benefits, including producing oxygen, cleaning the air, preventing soil erosion, providing habitat, and reducing carbon dioxide. By planting a tree, you can help to enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, mitigate climate change, reduce erosion, and provide shade. So why not plant a tree today? Together, we can make a positive impact on our planet.

I believe that we all must act together towards the Climate Action!

My Visit to a Government School | World Environment Day 2025

On 5th June 2025, on the occasion of World Environment Day, I had the honour of being invited to a government school in India. As an Environmentalist and Educator/Mentor, it was truly heartening to engage with a group of young, bright minds who are not only curious but deeply eager to contribute to real climate action. I spent the day connecting with students and introducing them to the importance of environmental awareness—discussing simple yet impactful actions they can take to make a difference. From understanding the impact of plastic pollution to the benefits of planting trees and conserving water, their enthusiasm was truly inspiring. The teachers, too, were incredibly supportive and enthusiastic, eager to understand more and pass on this awareness to future generations. This experience reaffirmed my belief that change begins with awareness, and the seeds of that change can—and must—be sown in our classrooms. These children are not just the future; they are the hope of today. If ...

Fruits of My Guava Plant! 🌿🍈

The Picture of the Guava from Our Plant! Many say that the fruit of hard work is sweet — and today, I’m truly experiencing it. The guava tree I planted in a picnic near my city has grown a lot, but let me take you back to the beginning. As I was busy with my studies and other activities, I didn’t have the option to take care of the plant by myself. So, I decided to replant it at my home, where it would be under my watchful care. With the help of my family, I started nurturing it, and soon it began to grow well. Fast-forward to today — it’s finally bearing fruit! Back in early July, there were two big guavas hanging on the tree. I plucked one and decided to let the other grow fully. The first guava was only half-ripe, but it was still incredibly sweet. This morning, I plucked the second one — perfectly ripe, delicious, and unbelievably sweet. I can’t even express in words how happy I felt eating it, knowing it was the result of my own and my family’s hard work. Thank you, Readers ...
