Today, the world is grappling with a range of environmental challenges, with climate change standing out as a critical global crisis. It is no longer a regional concern but a worldwide emergency. As our population continues to grow, it is essential that our path to progress is rooted in Sustainable Development. We must actively promote green jobs and green skilling for youth, empowering the next generation to lead the way in building a sustainable future.
A clear example of international efforts can be seen through the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 13: Climate Action and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities. Climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable communities, deepening existing socio-economic inequalities. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and resource scarcity hit the poorest hardest, exacerbating the divide between the rich and the marginalized.
I firmly believe that climate change is a major driver of socio-economic inequality worldwide. It not only threatens livelihoods and access to basic resources but also has a significant impact on mental well-being and public health, especially in communities with limited resilience.
Each of us has a role to play. Individual actions matter—whether it's choosing eco-friendly products, shifting to renewable energy, or supporting afforestation. These steps, though they may seem small, collectively create a profound impact.
The planet is our mother, and it is our sacred duty to protect and nurture her. When we act together, change is not only possible—it is inevitable. Let us unite and act for Earth. The time is now.
Thank You
